| Description | The Toxics Cleanup Program (TCP) at the Washington State Department of Ecology (Ecology) offers “remedial action” grants and loans to local governments. The funding helps communities clean up contaminated sites and provide safe drinking water. This guidance helps local governments manage three types of remedial action grants and loans: 1) Oversight Remedial Action Grants and Loans 2) Area-wide Groundwater Investigation Grants, and 3) Safe Drinking Water Action Grants. The document explains the policies and expectations when applying for grants, meeting Toxics Cleanup Program requirements, and managing funded projects. This guidance is specific to TCP’s remedial action grant and loan solicitation for the 2021–23 biennium. ______________________ REVISION NOTES June 2022. Washington State Legislature revoked the permit funding condition in MTCA for Remedial Action Grants during Legislative session 2022.
