Description The Washington State Department of Ecology invites you to review and comment on the proposed plan to amend the Agreed Order and delist Chevron 90619 (Site) from the Hazardous Sites List (HSL). The Site is located at 1205 Washington Street, Bellingham, WA 98225. Gas and service stations operated on the property from about 1930 until the late 1980's. The fuel tanks, infrastructure and buildings were removed in 1991. Coffee shops operated at the location until 2015. A new tenant opened a butcher shop at the site in August 2017. Documents Available for Public Comment: Draft Agreed Order - The amended Agreed order removes the requirements of a Feasibility Study and Draft Cleanup Action Plan from the Scope of Work. Also to delist the site from the HSL. In 2018, Ecology completed a Site Hazard Assessment (SHA) on the Site. The result was a ranking of "4" on a scale of 1 to 5, where "1 " represents the highest risk and "5" represents the lowest risk. The SHA ranking estimates the potential threat to human health and the environment relative to other sites in Washington State. Draft Remedial Investigation - The Remedial Investigation concluded that contaminants in soil and groundwater do not exceed the state soil and groundwater cleanup standards.
