Description The Toxics Cleanup Program created a new cleanup site to document PFAS contamination in this area, based on sampling results from a Group A water system drinking water well. There are several untested Group B water system and private wells in the area, and we sent this postcard to addresses within a half mile of the known location of contamination to ensure that people on other water sources were aware of the issue and knew where to find additional information. Group A and Group B are designations established by the state Department of Health to refer to water systems that serve different numbers of people. More information on required PFAS sampling in Group A wells can be found at: https://doh.wa.gov/community-and-environment/drinking-water/contaminants/pfas-drinking-water. Department of Health also has answers to frequently asked PFAS questions here: https://doh.wa.gov/community-and-environment/contaminants/pfas.
