Description Cosmetics are a type of consumer product used to cleanse or alter one’s appearance. These products can contain chemicals that are hazardous to people or the environment.
We (Ecology) tested some cosmetics for the presence of ortho-phthalates and asbestos. This report includes a list of the products we bought for testing and our product test results for ortho-phthalates and asbestos. We found that cosmetics can be made without potentially harmful chemicals. Careful sourcing of raw materials can successfully eliminate asbestos in products. Cosmetics can be manufactured with high safety standards to prevent unintentional contamination and intentionally added harmful chemicals.
