| Description | In 2025, the Legislature passed House Bill 5033, amending chapter 70A.226 Revised Code of Washington (RCW). The changes enacted by this bill require the Department of Ecology (Ecology) to publish sampling guidance for facilities generating biosolids. This guidance must clarify sampling requirements for Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS), including frequency of sampling and methodology. This publication establishes the biosolids sampling frequency and provides additional information about the required sampling event(s) for facilities subject to the law. | ||||
