Description Ecology invites you to review and comment on the following documents for the Northern State Multi Service Center cleanup site in Sedro-Woolley: an interim action work plan that outlines the scope of work and schedule to clean up contaminated soil; a State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) Determination of Nonsignificance stating that the work is not likely to harm the environment; and an updated public participation plan that describes how Ecology will inform the community about the site activities and ways to become involved. Decades of hospital operations and maintenance from the former Northern State Hospital contributed to contaminated soil, groundwater, and soil vapor that must be addressed to protect human health and the environment. Comments are accepted from 12:00 a.m., June 15, to 11:59 p.m., July 16, 2026.
