Description This report summarizes progress to date on the pilot phase of the sediment best management practices (BMPs) effectiveness study sponsored by the Timber/Fish/Wildlife Cooperative Monitoring, Evaluation and Research Committee. As of October 1992, the project team had established 12 study sites for evaluating 27 examples of BMP implementation in four physiographic regions of the state. These examples include BMPs for timber harvesting using tractor/wheeled skidding systems, new road construction, and haul road maintenance.
