Description | The Washington State Wetland Mitigation Evaluation Study was developed in two phases to evaluate the success of projects intended to compensate (mitigate) for wetlands lost to development activities in the state of Washington. Phase 1 of the study, conducted in the fall of 1999, examined the compliance of 45 randomly selected projects with their permit requirements. Phase 2 examined the ecological success of a subset of the projects from Phase 1. The study did not include any Washington State Department of Transportation mitigation projects. |
