| Description | In 2010, EPA approved the Spokane River and Lake Spokane Dissolved Oxygen Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) Water Quality Improvement Plan. The TMDL established allocations and actions to meet Washington State water quality standards for dissolved oxygen in Lake Spokane. This 10-year effectiveness monitoring study is intended to capture a snapshot of conditions about 10 years into implementation of the TMDL. During 2021-2022, the Department of Ecology will measure nutrient, dissolved oxygen, and other parameters in the Spokane River, tributaries, and Lake Spokane. We will use resulting data, along with data collected by other organizations and existing data, to evaluate progress toward meeting 2010 TMDL goals. |
