The Simplot Soilbuilders Moxee City Site is located at 7528 Postma Road in Moxee. In 2012 and 2013, Ecology’s consultant performed site assessment activities at the Moxee POTW Site, which included limited sampling on the Simplot facility. The site assessment was conducted to define a petroleum release Moxee POTW Site, and included natural attenuation parameters such as nitrate and sulfate. The Moxee POTW Site is located adjacent to the west of the Simplot facility. Site assessment results indicated elevated nitrate and sulfate concentrations in groundwater. Nitrate and sulfate concentrations in shallow soils (less than 6.5 feet below ground surface) were also elevated along the property boundary, with the highest concentrations found on the Simplot facility.
From 2012 through 2014, six groundwater monitoring events have been conducted.

This site is in our Voluntary Cleanup Program, which provides technical help to owners of contaminated sites.
Voluntary Cleanup Program customers pay fees to cover our costs for technical help and reviewing cleanup reports. Sites in this program must meet the same cleanup standards as sites Ecology manages under legal orders.
