In February 1993, two underground storage tank (USTs)--one 1,000-gallon gasoline and one 550-gallon diesel--were decommissioned and removed, revealing gasoline and diesel contamination in the soil around the tanks. Approximately 15 cubic yards of contaminated soil was excavated and spread on-site to be land-farmed. Soil samples analyzed for gasoline, diesel and related constituents confirmed that no contamination was left in the former tank basin following the remedial excavation.
In September 2024 Ecology determined that more than 30 years of natural attenuation would have degraded petroleum contamination in the land-farmed soil to below MTCA Method A cleanup levels and issued a No Further Action determination for this site.
