Ecology held a 30 day public comment period (March 2-April 2, 2018) to delist the site from the Hazardous Sites List. Ecology reviewed all comments received during the comment period. The Site was removed from the Hazardous Sites List. The Hazardous Sites List is published twice a year.  It includes additions to the list, changes in remedial status of sites on the list, and removals from the list.

This site entered the Ecology Voluntary Cleanup Program (VCP) in June 2013.  Results of soil sampling completed in May 2017 identified one location near the eastern property boundary where contaminants in soil were above Method A cleanup levels.  Soil at this location was excavated in June 2013 and disposed at a permitted off-site facility.  Samples collected from the excavation bottom and sidewalls confirmed that soil cleanup levels had been met.  Based on the results of the site soil sampling and cleanup results, Ecology issued a No Further Action (NFA) opinion letter for the site dated December 29, 2017. 

 

Due to the site’s inclusion on the Hazardous Sites List, Ecology was required to hold a public comment period to complete the NFA process.  The public was invited to review and comment on the No Further Action opinion letter from March 2 through April 2, 2018.  Based on the comments received regarding groundwater concerns at the Site, Ecology rescinded the opinion letter on April 10, 2018.  After receipt of confirmation ground water sample data that showed chemicals of concern below detection limits and below MTCA Method A cleanup levels, Ecology reissued the Site NFA opinion letter on September 28, 2018.
