Cleanup Complete
The site is made up of two meter stations that originally regulated and metered the distribution of natural gas to a local distribution company or customer. These two stations were adjacent to each other within a fenced enclosure. One station was known as the Moses Lake meter station and the other as the U&I Sugar meter station.
An assessment of the site was conducted in 1990, and inorganic mercury was found in soil at the meter stations. The level of mercury in soil required cleanup.
Following the excavation and disposal of contaminated soil, Ecology removed the site from the Hazardous Sites List in 2013.
