Description After a wet winter/spring transition, we observe it to be noticeably drier, warmer, and sunnier in early April. River flows are near normal levels, and salinity is increasing above normal in Puget Sound and coastal bays. Noctiluca is already visible in southern Hood Canal. Spring blooms are developing, but are not yet pronounced.

We see suspended sediment near rivers and creeks, failing bluffs, and shellfish activities. A view from the plane of herring spawning is informative; pilots share their observations.
