Description Climate change is leading to drought, changing ocean conditions, flooding, extreme heat, and wildfires and smoke across Washington. These threats are putting added stress on our communities, infrastructure, and natural environment.

Every region will be affected by these changes, and the impacts will be felt in our economy, our environment, and the health of our communities.

To help Washington prepare for these impacts, the Department of Ecology and our agency partners have developed the Washington State Climate Resilience Strategy, as directed by the Legislature in Chapter 70A.05 RCW.
