| Description | The Department of Ecology (Ecology) is proposing two changes to the Toxics Cleanup Program’s Environmental Justice criteria and grant scoring. The first proposed change updates the criteria (indicators) used to identify likely overburdened communities and vulnerable populations. The second proposed change is how we score those criteria for the purpose of prioritizing Oversight Remedial Action Grant (ORAG) projects previously solicited for the 2027-29 biennium. These proposed changes are for the purpose of prioritizing and cleaning up contaminated sites under the MTCA Cleanup Regulations, Chapter 173-340 WAC. We are accepting public comments on both proposed changes through August 10, 2026. Please note that local governments who applied for Oversight Remedial Action Grants for the 2027-29 biennium do not need to reapply, and?we?will not reopen the solicitation. | ||||
