| Description | *This guidance is specific to Washington state’s remedial action grant and loan solicitation for the 2023–25 biennium.* The Toxics Cleanup Program (TCP) at the Washington State Dept. of Ecology (Ecology) offers “remedial action” grants and loans to local governments. The funding helps communities clean up contaminated sites and provide safe drinking water. This guidance helps local governments manage three types of remedial action grants and loans: 1) Oversight Remedial Action Grants and Loans 2) Area-wide Groundwater Investigation Grants, and 3) Safe Drinking Water Action Grants. The document explains the policies and expectations when people are applying for grants, meeting Toxics Cleanup Program requirements, and managing funded projects. ______________ REVISION NOTES JUNE 2022 During the 2022 legislative session, the Washington State Legislature revoked the permit funding condition in MTCA for Remedial Action Grants. Section 4.3 of this guidance no longer applies. See strikeouts pp. 17–19. |
