Cleanup Activities

In 1992, approximately 2,150 cubic yards of petroleum-contaminated soil was excavated and disposed at an approved facility. Current operations include a convenience store, gas station and a car wash. The past activities resulted in a release of petroleum hydrocarbons. Results from soil samples show the remaining low level concentrations in the soil are below state cleanup levels. Groundwater monitoring shows that no exceedances of any cleanup levels were detected in the ground water in four consecutive monitoring events.

Voluntary Cleanup Program

This site was cleaned up under our Voluntary Cleanup Program, which provides technical help to owners of contaminated sites.

Voluntary Cleanup Program customers pay fees to cover our costs for technical help and reviewing cleanup reports. Sites in this program must meet the same cleanup standards as the sites Ecology manages under legal orders.
