Site Description
The Coast Engine & Equipment Corp site is located at 4012 State Route 509 South Frontage Road. Following a spill of diesel fuel in 2012, contamination was found in the soil and groundwater on the site.
Progress Rail Services worked with Ecology under the Voluntary Cleanup Program to remove the contaminated soil and monitor the groundwater. Several soil and groundwater tests between 2012 and 2016 showed that the cleanup was successful. Ecology has determined that no further action is necessary.

Voluntary Cleanup Program
This site was cleaned up under our Voluntary Cleanup Program, which provides technical help to owners of contaminated sites.
Voluntary Cleanup Program customers pay fees to cover our costs for technical help and reviewing cleanup reports. Sites in this program must meet the same cleanup standards as the sites Ecology manages under legal orders.
