Ecology works to clean up contaminated properties throughout the state. Cleanups are construction projects that remove, treat, or contain potentially harmful substances.

This cleanup project was supported by an Independent Remedial Action Grant (IRAG) in 2021 for $398,209 state share (TCPIRA-1921-PiCoPW-00019). IRAGs encourage and expedite independent cleanups by providing funding to local governments that investigate and clean up contaminated sites under Ecology’s Voluntary Cleanup Program (VCP), and decrease the associated costs of cleanup for ratepayers and taxpayers.

Voluntary Cleanup Program

This site was cleaned up under our Voluntary Cleanup Program, which provides technical help to owners of contaminated sites.

Voluntary Cleanup Program customers pay fees to cover our costs for technical help and reviewing cleanup reports. Sites in this program must meet the same cleanup standards as the sites Ecology manages under legal orders.
