Site Description
The site currently operates as a restaurant. The site formerly operated as a gas station and convenience store.
In February 1989, three 10,000-gallon leaded- and unleaded-gasoline underground storage tanks (USTs) were removed from the property. Soil samples from showed gasoline and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene (BTEX) contamination remained under the former USTs above state cleanup levels. Groundwater samples showed gasoline and BTEX contamination as well.

Cleanup Activities
Soil over-excavation and removal occurred during tank decommissioning. Contaminated soil
remaining on-site was treated with oxygen injections used to help with biodegradation. Soil sampling conducted between 2004 and 2015 demonstrated that cleanup was effective.
Groundwater monitoring was conducted between 1989 and 2020. Groundwater monitoring concluded when a minimum of four quarters of samples remained below MTCA cleanup levels.

Voluntary Cleanup Program
This site was cleaned up under our Voluntary Cleanup Program, which provides technical help to owners of contaminated sites.
Voluntary Cleanup Program customers pay fees to cover our costs for technical help and reviewing cleanup reports. Sites in this program must meet the same cleanup standards as the sites Ecology manages under legal orders.
