West Of 4Th Cleanup
West of 4th is an Ecology cleanup that includes four responsible parties conducting a joint cleanup between Fourth Avenue South and the Duwamish Waterway, and between South Lucille and Fidalgo streets. The four parties have completed remedial investigations in the area west of 4th Ave. S. Together they are evaluating cleanup remedies for the contamination and developing specific cleanup proposals, all leading to a future proposed cleanup action plan. These elements will be subject to public review and formal comment periods prior to adoption by Ecology.
The four parties to the agreed order (legal document) with Ecology are:
Stericyle (formerly known as Burlington Environmental, or PSC Environmental Services), 734 S. Lucile St. (a closed hazardous waste treatment and storage facility, located four blocks east of 4th Ave. S.).
